Testimonials about QTL
Participants' Reflections
"How useful and engaging the program is. I came into QTL with great knowledge of technology use - but I have learned so muh more on specific uses. Technology is so easy to incorporate into any lesson."
Sheri Early
Johnston County, NC Schools
"The first thing I would tell a colleague about this training is that it truly makes you a better teacher! I have thoroughly enjoyed each day of QTL training, and my students are already reaping the benefits. I feel that I am teaching more effectively to all of my students learning needs now... After several years of teaching, sometimes my creativity gets stifled. With a ‘stifled’ mind, my lessons are not as interesting or effective as they should be. This training has reminded me of many of the things that I learned in college and have been pushed to the back of my memory. I now feel excited again about teaching! Thank you QTL!!!"

"It was wonderful. It opened doors. It showed so many different ways to do things we were already doing in the classroom and just didn't know how to integrate a computer into. Everything we did was based on our curriculum. Everything we did was usable. Every school should have it. Every instructor, teacher, assistant, any staff member should be given the opportunity."
Anne Waters, elementary teacher
Perquimans County, NC
"I learned a lot, and I was introduced to so much that it made me sort of excited to look and see what else I could do. I got so many ideas. I had just felt stumped as to how to use technology. It's fun to be exposed to all these neat ideas."
Frankie Doyle,
elementary teacher
Botetourt County, VA
"(QTL™) allows me to integrate technology with everything I do in the classroom. I had never thought of turning my kids loose with the high-tech equipment until I went through this program... I came right back to the classroom and taught the students what I learned."
Pat Cook, elementary teacher
McDowell County, NC
"I have always had a phobia of technology, and now I can't wait to get back to my classroom to implement some of the new ideas... I would encourage any teacher who has the opportunity to attend this workshop to fight for the chance to attend."
Shanna Matthews, middle school teacher
Jones County, MS
"QTL™ took teaching strategies that I have had in workshops, classes, seminars, etc. during my many years and showed me how to incorporate them with technology. I also added to my teaching strategies list with some new and practical ideas... In particular I have enjoyed using cooperative groups for science and social studies projects. I vary the method of presenting new skills in math to accommodate different learning styles. I have used contracts and given the students "voice and choice" to decide which activities they will complete to attain certain skills and knowledge."

"I just didn't have the background (for making use of technology). It wasn't that I didn't want to, I just didn't have the background. I feel like a whole new arena has opened up for me!"
Michele Aydlett, elementary teacher
Perquimans County, NC
"I have told all of my friends on any grade level to take this QTL. It was fabulous... I couldn't wait until Thursday sessions and then I couldn't wait to do it with my children. It was GREAT!"
Paula Speight
Johnston County, NC Schools
"This was the BEST workshop I've ever been involved in. I learned soooo much new information. I thought that I knew a bit about technology, but I've found that I can always learn something new... I was kind of dreading this, but now that I know about it, I love it."
Tiffani Lyons, teacher
Jones County, MS
"I started the workshop with little technology background and i feel much more comfortable using various programs, the Internet, and applying the knowledge that I have gained from this training in my lessons. It has been so helpful in giving me ideas to try utilizing technology and has given me insight into learning styles, differentiation, cooperative learning and multiple intelligences... Without this training, I would not be using the wonderful technology equipment that my school has been fortunate to acquire in ways that would be most beneficial to my children."
Elaine Spivey, elementary teacher
Nash-Rocky Mount Schools, NC
"User Friendly!!!"
Paige Catt, teacher

"QTL™ has given me the confidence to try to teach with technology. My principal has noticed that I am less hesitant to try new things. I owe this newfound confidence to the week spent with you this summer and the time on the computer using the software programs we now have in our schools. So glad QTL™ has come to Botetourt County."
Tamara Teaff, library teacher
Botetourt County, VA
"I was very apprehensive. I really did not think my children could benefit from me coming here at all. But I was completely wrong!. I have learned so much that I have used in my classroom!"
Jennifer Kresicki, special education teacher
Perquimans County, NC
"I feel that most of the resources would be extremely useful in my classroom. I teach an alternative learning classroom. We use a great deal of hands-on learning. These would be excellent for teaching my students... This class has really opened my eyes to the broad spectrum of learning opportunities available to my students as well as me."
Marsha Miller, teacher
Corning, AR
"This has been a workshop full of great new information and fun. I have felt very relaxed and comfortable throughout the entire 5 weeks even though most of the time working with technology is very stressful for me! Being involved in QTL™ has made me aware of many new ideas that I can use in my classroom. Thanks to our instructors for making this a worthwhile, informative and fun experience!!"
Becky Caudle, art teacher
Wilson County, NC
"I have REALLY enjoyed this workshop. It is one of the best that I have attended in my 20 years as a teacher. You have helped me become more confident and comfortable with the concept of using technology in my class. I know that my students will benefit from the information you have given me. Thank you for making it not only informative -- thanks for making it FUN!!"
